Sarahn Henderson

Sarahn has been involved in the Natural Childbirth movement for over 25 years serving women in the Greater Atlanta area.  She considers herself as Keeper of the Gates as she empowers women to preserves the traditional practices of Midwifery and childbirth customs through education.   So some she is called a Midwife, to others a Natural Childbirth Eduactor and Doula.

She is also married with five children (all whom were born at home).  Outside her calling you can find Sarahn on stage performing her shekere with Atlanta’s own Giwayen Mata, an all sister drum and dance ensemble

To date, Sarahn has assisted over five hundred women in childbirth, and has taught countless couples ways to accomplishing a natural childbirth experience.  She also conducts workshops for those women/couples who are interested in becoming better in tuned with their fertility to both achieve and avoid pregnancy.  Sarahn considers herself a native to Atlanta, although she was born in California and arrived in Atlanta after living in Hawaii for most of her childhood.

She arrived in Atlanta in 1975 to embrace her family’s history and to attend Clark College where in 1979 she received her BA in Early Childhood Education.  Little did she know that the Creator had a more meaningful purpose for her life, gifting her with a sense to assist women in childbirth.
