Omialadora Ajamu

Omialadora is a traditional African priestess, healer and trans-medium, and musical artist.  25 years ago she was initiated into the Sacred Society of Yemoja, Great Mother Goddess of the Yoruba people of southwestern Nigeria. Today Yemoja worship has spread from Cuba and Brazil to all of the Americas.  It is through our ancestral traditions and our priestly works, rituals and classes that we are able to activate each person's   spirituality which empowers them to take charge of their destiny and elevate their spirit'to the highest levels.

Omialadora has a career in music and performance that has had a 25 year span from the Broadway play Hair in the 70's to THE AFRICAN CONNECTION family performance ensemble and her jazz quartet that performs in the Florida area clubs and festivals.

She had a great interest in the Civil rights movement in the 1960’s and worked as an assistant to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  During that time Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. married her to her first husband.

Omi and her family lived in Oyotunji African Village for 9 years (1976-1985) and during her tenure in Oyotunji, she was the head of the Yemoja Temple, and erelu(head)  of the African women's society, Egbe Moremi , and first female in Oyotunji to hold the title Iyagan(mother of the Egungun Society (ancestral society).

Presently Iyalosa Omialadora Ajamu resides in Gainesville,Florida with her husband of 22 years,Babalosa Olomide Ogunlano and her family and continues her career as an African priestess and musical artist.
