Olomide Ogunlano

 

Olomide Ogunlano was born in Wheeling, West Virginia and is the second oldest of five children by Julian E. Speight and Ann E. Williams Speight.

 

He has been in the health sciences for over 20 years.  During this time he has work with HIV positive clients as an outreach consultant, created street corner outreach program, coordinated community resources for HIV positive clients, and worked as a case manager for HIV positive clients addicted to crack.

 

He lived in Oyotunji African Village for about ten years.  While there he held many different positions including Chief otu priest which was responsible all spiritual ceremonies for Oyotunji and for the king of Oyotunji, teacher of the young boys in Oyotunji’s Royal Academy, Osi of the Egungun society and work on Dope’, working on public works projects in there, among other things.   During his stay in Oyotunji Olomide meet and later married his wife, Omialadora.

 

Olomide, who has been an Osun priest for over 27 years, resides in Gainesville, Florida with his wife, Omialadora for over twenty-two years and has nine children and 13 grand-children.
